Licensing

Psychology is a regulated health profession in the Northwest Territories, under the Health and Social Services Professions Act , with specific regulations for Psychologists.

Licensing is overseen by the Office of the Registrar, Professional Licensing, Department of Health and Social Services, Government of the Northwest Territories.

The APNWT is not able to answer licensing questions or provide licensing support. However, if you are a prospective provisional psychologist seeking a supervisor, you are encouraged to visit Find a Psychologist to find someone who matches your intended scope of practice. You are welcome to contact the APNWT should you have trouble finding a supervisor. Please take time to familiarize yourself with requirements for provisional registration first, and note that provisional hours must be completed physically within the NWT, not virtually.
